Cherry Creek Chorale March 12 and 13, 2010

arranging for CCHS. It's a medley of two pieces - Bonaparte's Retreat
and Dry and Dusty, both american- Bon's is well known as Copeland's
hoedown in Rodeo, I heard dry and dusty last year at a concert and
fell in love with the song. They go well together." Margo

What Should You Expect at a Harp Circle?
A. Welcome, Introductions and announcements
B. Warm-ups (possibilities):
Sight Reading
A new piece or a new arrangement of an old piece may be introduced
Demostration and practice of a new technique; finger exercises
C. Focus Topic – may be a special speaker, special topic, or special music, or a “How to…” such as a demonstration of a skill or technique
D. Open mike - Show and Tell. Each person is invited to play a piece he or she has been working on. The emphasis is on sharing and encouragement, not on performance. Members are encouraged to discuss the ups and downs of playing.
E. Ensemble work. We will review past music and learn new music in 2 or more parts
Leader may spend some time talking about ensemble playing or a particular technique/method that can help people learn to play better in an ensemble

HIGHLANDS RANCH HARPESTRY
Highlands Ranch Harpestry, directed by Lisa Clark, gave its first ever recital last Saturday, December 5, 2009. It was held in one of the beautiful club houses at the Palamino Park Resort. Lisa, Carolyn and Joanna Play for Glory Luncheon
On Saturday, April 25, 2009, Lisa, Carolyn and Joanna played at the Third Annual Glory Luncheon. Susan St. James who has been a volunteer for the Special Olympics since 1972, gave a moving speech emphasizing the need for support to benefit intellectually challenged adults.
